Embracing the Discomfort of Diversity
At Pentecost, God laid a foundation of diversity for his church when he allowed the disciples to speak the languages of the nations. But today, we often use the cultural value of assimilation to achieve unity. We will explore how indigenous Christians are contextualizing worship for their cultures: using drums, chants, traditional dances, native languages, and even different perceptions of time. Learning unity is not found in sameness, but in celebrating our differences.

Learn how to connect people to one another and the church through the arts. In this workshop you will learn how hip-hop culture empowered a generation, and how to put together sustainable low cost events to do the same through your church and community. There will also be Q&A with Urban Arts Outreach art mentors in breakdancing, graffiti, DJing, & spoken word poetry, on how they have been sharing the gospel through their individual art forms for over a decade.
